What are trazadone side effects you should be aware of? First you
should know what trazadone is. Trazodone is an antidepressant
prescribed by a doctor. This medication is intended to increase the
serotonin levels in your brain. If these levels are too low they can
cause depression, anxiety, sleeplessness and chronic pain.
Patients who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder or
schizophrenia, those who have a history of drug abuse and or thoughts
of suicide or have recently had a heart attack should discuss these
factors with the doctor before taking trazadone.
Patients, especially those under the age of 24, may have increased
symptoms of depression or thoughts of suicide during the first few
weeks of taking the medication. You will want to contact the

taking this medication.
Some of the less serious potential side effects of taking trazadone

Some more serious potential side effects of taking trazadone
are:
. Chest pain or heaviness
. Pain through your arm
. Nausea and sweating
. Inability to urinate
. Feeling faint
If any of these feelings occur you should contact your physician
immediately.
If you have symptoms that become worse after starting to take this
medication such as a sudden restlessness or anxiety, increased
difficulty sleeping, feeling irritable or hostile, being aggressive or
suffering any unusual mood swings, a sudden feeling of hyperactivity,
thoughts of suicide, you should contact your physician immediately.
There also some signs to be aware of regarding allergic reactions to
trazadone. If you develop hives, have difficulty breathing, face or
lip swelling, tongue swelling or feeling like your throat is closing
up.
Be careful while taking this medication and follow the directions
of your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if any of the above
happens and try to be aware of your body and mind while on this
medication.
