Menopause is the time in a women's life when the menstrual cycle ends. It is the permanent cessation of the reproductive fertility which occurs before the end of a natural life span. The woman's ovaries make less estrogen and progesterone and with this the lifetime supply of eggs is depleted. This drop levels may bring many changes to sex drive in women. Natural menopause occcurs at the age of forty two to fifty five years. The normal and regular monthly periods come to an end in her life and she can never become pregnant. Women should have sound knowledge about side effects of menopause. Women experience many symptoms and signs of menopause in their life. Irregular periods are the first and foremost sign of menopause. Some may experience periods in every two weeks or three weeks. Lower fertility is also another symptom along with dryness in vagina.
Women may feel lot of discomfort and itching in the vagina during pre-menopause. Hot flashes which mean developing sudden feel of heat in the upper body like face, neck and chest. The skin may become even red or patchy sometimes accompanied by profuse sweating. Women may experience increase in heart rate or irregular palpitations. Hot flashes that happen in bed are called night sweats which may not continue or prolong for long time. Because of anxiety and insomnia, women may have lot of disturbance in their sleep. Mood disturbances are mainly triggered by lack of proper sleep. Some may suffer with urinary tract infections like cystitis. More fat may be accumulated in the abdomen during this menopause stage. Thinning of the hair is also another issue along with lack of concentration on routine work and activites. It is observed that some women may lose their actual size of the breast.
Side effects of menopause may be sometimes dangerous, so it is better to be very careful and consult your doctor for knowing all the details by explaining her about the symptoms that you are facing or experiencing. Every child and every woman has to face this menstruation cycle and menopause stage in her life compulsorily. The stage of menopause may differ from woman to woman due to hormonal changes. women may be mentally disturbed with sudden tears, disorientation and loss of mental clarity. The effects of menopause will differ because of changes in diet, lifestyle and genetics. Some of the other side effects of menopause are fatigue, joint pains, headaches, depression, irritability and dry eyes. Menopause is also related with coronary heart diseases and osteoporosis.
