When the kidneys of a person fail completely, they are to fo under dialysis to save their lives. This is a temporary treatment that has to be done regularly. There are two common forms of dialysis including the peritoneal dialysis and the Hemo dialysis. In the case of peritoneal dialysis, the surgeons place a catheter to exchange the fluid avoiding infections. The fluid must be handled well from the catheter but the risks of infection is high here. In some extreme cases, the infections reach the peritoneum and become very serious resulting in the death of the patient.
The side effects of dialysis are that it may affect the peritoneum membrane and damage it in the future. Hernia is also another one of the side effects of dialysis that occurs in the abdominal cavity due to the excessive fluid collection. To drain these excessive fluids, the catheter is inserted in to the cavity of the abdomen which may damage the walls of the abdomen.
Hemo dialysis is made to remove the collected fluid in the abdominal cavity. The people undergoing dialysis urinate few or never pass urine. In the case of hemo dialysis, there is the risk of the elimination of the excessive fluid. The side effects of dialysis include chest pain. Low blood pressure, cramps in the leg parts, fatigue and nausea. The kidney failure in the humans can be cured by replacing the entire set of kidneys and there are advanced surgical procedures for the treatment of kidney failure. In some of the developing nations and the under developed nations, the human organ theft is a common one. There are separate gangs operating in these countries which steal the human organs and sell them abroad to rich hospitals.
Poverty in certain nations force people to come forward for organ donations and in many cases people donate one of their kidneys for a smaller amount. In a similar manner, various organs are also sold. The growth of organ donations soon after the death of the person is getting popular all over the world and there are a lot of organ donators in this manner all over the world. There are a lot of campaigns and awareness programs conducted to increase the organ donations and the importance of organ donations in saving people's lives is made clear in these campaigns. People are welcomed to donate their organs in such camps.
