An increasingly popular supplement is Lecithin. People believe that
it can be very beneficial to their health and they are increasing
their intake of this natural substance. It is already found in
different foods, like peanuts, egg yolks, soybeans, and yeast. But
apparently, people want more of this substance than can be naturally
provided by eating specific foods. This has led to the commercial
production of Lecithin.
Lecithin prevents fat from building up inside of the body. This
allows the fat to be broken down quickly and used as energy, instead
of building up inside. It is believed to help lower cholesterol
levels, promote weight loss by not letting the fats build up, help the
liver to stay healthy, and to improve memory and overall brain
function. Some people believe that Lecithin relieves arthritis, give a
person healthy skin and hair, diminish gallstones, and make a person's
physical fitness levels increase. But many of these claims have not
been scientifically proven.
If you do decide that you are going to take Lecithin, always get
your doctor's approval. You need to make sure that it will not
interact with any other medications that you are taking. You also need
to make sure that your doctor supports your choice and will provide
you with any necessary information and answers to your questions. As
long as you take the correct dosage, you will most likely not
experience any lecithin side effects. But if you up your dosage, then
you may begin to have diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight gain, other
stomach problems, headaches, nausea, vomiting, bad breath, and bad
body odor. Severe side effects that can occur after someone takes
Lecithin for an extended period of time at a high dosage include low
blood pressure, fainting, and blurred vision.
Although there are potential side effects, that is true of any
medication. As long as you are taking it under a doctor's care, then
you should feel confident that you are getting good care and taking
care of your body at the same time. Remember to watch out for any
allergic reactions because these can quickly develop into something
that could be fatal .
