Ablation is a surgery done in the endometrial or the inside of the uterus on women. Those women who experience painful menstrual cycles are operated on the endometrial to reduce the pains and the endometrial wall is operated on. However the ablation side effects are eminent after the surgery.
Some of the side effects are Stomach cramps- After the surgery one is likely to have some serious stomach cramps and pains, some may have equally severe cramps they experience during the normal menstruation. There is also fatigue-After the surgery, the patient feels tired and it is advisable to take three to four days rest to heal slowly.
Vomiting is likely due to nausea. The nausea is experienced because of the anesthesia used during the procedure. The nausea may go for a period of about three weeks until the anesthesia is finished from your body. It is however wise to have the person performing the procedure be sure of the anesthesia to be used as patients can have Allergic reactions to anesthesia which can cause shock and can lead to death.
There may also be vaginal discharge after the ablation, this discharge is however normal as this is away to recovery. The watery virginal discharge is a mixture of water and blood and may go on for close to three weeks. However it is not a good ablation side effects.
There is also the low grade effect. This is as a result of exposure to the surgery and the drugs used in the process. Here the patients run low grade temperatures and it is advisable to keep warm and to take warm fluids after the surgery, however the low temperatures get back to normal as the patient recovers.
There are also other side effects that come with the procedure. Depending on the procedure the medical professional uses on the patient, there is the likelihood of affecting the areas around the vagina.There may be burns caused on the bowels and the vulva,these areas are exposed and through the procedure and are likely to be hurt. There is pain during passage of urine and this will last when the burns and all the discomfort is gone.
There are other rather serious ablation side effects like having infections on the vagina.It is advisable to have a strong antibiotic to prevent this as it is likely to happen. Another side effect of ablation is the absorption of the drugs used during the procedure into the bloodstream. If this drugs absorption is not controlled it can be fatal and lead to contamination of the blood and eventually to death.
